When you give yourself permission to communicate what matters to you in every situation you will have peace – despite rejection or disapproval. Putting a voice to your soul helps you to let go of the negative energy of fear and regret.” ― Shannon L. Alder
We are all made up of different parts, professionally and personally. There is the part of you that is fired up and motivated, the part which is your (worst) critic, that sensitive part that is vulnerable… you get the idea. They all contribute to what makes you unique, and you might be surprised to learn that every part matters when you present.
Now you can be greater than the sum of all your parts
When you are putting talks together, how aware are you of all your component parts? Do you give every aspect of your personality space and airtime when you plan your speech? It can be tempting just to slip into auto delivery mode but if you want to be inspiring as a speaker, you’ll need to channel every part of yourself for a richer, more memorable experience.
We can help you make sure that the many facets of your voice, your personality and your essence are heard. Your vulnerable part, for example, may not want to be expressed in front of 300 people, but it still deserves to be heard and acknowledged by you. Being aware of your multi-faceted voice will lead to a deeper understanding of yourself which in turn brings new confidence.
Bin the PowerPoint and talk from the heart
Simply giving the facts and presenting information to your audience isn’t enough and won’t make you memorable. Sure, the part of you that’s logical and knowledgeable will dominate in many circumstances but listen to that curious voice, the one that prompted you to seek out knowledge in the first place. Use energy, passion and dynamism to enliven your narrative. That’s what will make you stand out…
It may not feel natural. You might have to fight against some deeply ingrained instincts. But when was the last time you dug a little deeper and challenged yourself to bring together all your inner voices? Don’t be afraid to mix it all up a bit. We know you’ve got it in you.
